MONA MASON (nee PARSONS) Peacefully on January 8, 2008 Mona Mason passed away at the Grace Hospital. Mona was born November 15, 1929 at Clutton, Sommerset, England. She is survived by her loving husband Ralph F. Mason, daughter Gaynor Mason-Bird, grandson Tyson Mason-Bird, great-grandson Wyatt Hill, special nieces; Doreen Mullen (Larry), Jane Cyr (Rene, Adam and Briana). She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Salter of Shepton Mallett and brother Bryn Parsons (Nancy) of High Littleton and other family members in England. During her early years in England Mona played soccer, tennis and field hockey. Right up to her death she enjoyed watching sports of any kind. She bowled during the winters and golfed through the summers. Mona worked at K-Mart on Cavalier for over 25 years. She always enjoyed travelling with her husband to Europe, Mexico, Caribbean and especially to England to visit and see her family and friends. Upon her and her husband's retirement a terrific trip was taken to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Hawaii. She most recently took trips just across the border to casinos with her husband and friends from the Army and Navy Over 55 Club. She had a wonderful spirit and great strength that helped her make and keep many friends. An interment will take place Monday, January 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 14 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Chad's Anglican Church, 3390 Portage Ave., with a reception to follow. We would like to thank the Doctors and Staff of the third floor of Grace Hospital for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
